Simplifying RadicalsWhen simplifying radicals, remember to think of your Radical as a "jail". The "radicands" want to break out of jail, but to do so they must have a buddy. Use a factor tree and your steps on page 3 of your Portfolio to help you simplify. Dont forget the variables! If they are raised to an ODD exponent, you must take the absolute value as we dont want any negatives under our radical.
